No One Knows My Name
sometimes I wish
I were a real writer
so I could write the words
and
tell you how I feel
because
if I were a real writer
and
people knew who I was
I would write about love
and
compare it to
the beauty of a mountain
glinting in the sun
or
the graceful flight of a bird
as a metaphor for my heart
but I’m not a real writer
no one knows my name
so I guess
the only thing I can do
is tell you how
no one else in the world
makes me feel the way you do
and
just hope that it’s enough
James Babbs has been writing for most of his life but he still manages to learn new things. He has written hundreds of poems and a few short stories and has even had a few of them published. More recently James has been indulging in writing haiku with a certain amount of success. He still thinks about writing a novel someday but that just seems like an awful lot of words.
