What if We Just Call the Whole Thing Off by Bree

What if We Just Call the Whole Thing Off

A toad sits like a plum beneath
a curled leaf waiting out the rain
in captive. The purple of him you
simply havent seen before.

The Pentagon threatens to keep
the pope held hostage like the
French did – until things are ironed
out in Iran.

What do Christian people who
voted strictly on abortion
think of that?

Of course Christians believe that
Catholics are going to hell anyways
since they worship Mary and the saints.

They say Catholics arent saved –
which makes the whole thing null and void.

What if we all could just null and void it?
What if we could all ovus at once
and immediately call the whole
thing off? And at the same time?

On three we were going to jump
into the quarry pool together after
riding mountain bikes down canopy
woods but neither of us did.

One time I pulled a comb from
Gods back pocket and tucked it
behind a shelving. He and i have
never mentioned this.

Lets get everything with pickles
on the side.

Lets gaslight the moon into
believing it is three moons at once.

Tell her all the moons are different
colors – ones we can see plain on
each others faces when we dance
off any perturbance looking alive
under all the light they will make.
Lets be on the make.
Lets keep our noses up while
scoffers scoff.
Lets call the whole thing off.
