PUNK ROCK FAMILY
I remember those daze well, those daze as a young man
So full of passion and a desire to live this life as if that day could
Be my last day on earth & a fair few came a hell of a lot
Closer than even I’d like to admit. There were the nights
Of gigs, of clubs & the manic punk rock rush & then there
Were the mornings of near-death & out of body experiences
But it was my life & I loved it & grabbed every damn
Opportunity I could to live it & fill it with a whole host of
New experiences that, still, to this day I sometimes struggle
To comprehend were real…
There were times I’ll still be able to rave about on my
Death bed; the road-trips, the lost weekends of pure
Undeniable hedonism, the gigs, the memories but it is
The friends, that punk rock family, that keeps us coming
Back to worship at the alter of the manic punk rock rush.
