Everyone Is On The Run These Days
Treadmill tummy tuckers dominate that long gym pass
window out to the street.
A line of muscle shirts burning carbs like witches
at the stake.
Everyone is on the run these days,
chasing protein shakes and building invisible cardio.
In those skin-tight shorts,
laced up sneakers on a step count.
Arms pumping madly like guilty cheat day pistons,
a foolish race into crash diet oblivion.
Meat market sweats flung all over
the calibrated machinery.
Just look at all the strides they make.
Inspirational quotes littered over all the
salty forget-me-not walls.
