Bud Smith is 30, distracted, sleeps on his right side. He lives in Washington Heights, NYC and has written a collection of short stories called Or Something Like That. His car is on the verge of catching fire, so that’s all he dreams about. Putting the car out before it explodes. Brian Fugett’s “This Is The Damn Poem” Broadside

Brian Fugett is a member of the slacker, fast food generation that has been branded with an ‘X’ by that Canadian-born, literary terrorist known as Douglas Coupland. Meanwhile, he sits in his pad all day consuming more oxygen than he’s worth. He’s been doing it for over 35 years now and has become quite effecient at it. Eating and voiding are the only things he really knows how to do. Between meals and trips to the shitter, he covertly milks ‘West Nile Virus’ from the tits of pregnant mosquitoes and uses it to butter the toast of local politicians. He is the editor/publisher of Zygote in my Coffee.

Brian will be reading at the Mothpocalypse on November 4th at the Harwood Arts Center in Albuquerque, NM.

The Mothpocalypse. brought to you by The Literary Underground

The mothpocalypse is a gathering of multi-lingual vagabonds, writers and poets- communing like it’s early spring in the middle of fall and making noise while eating pages of history, mythology, science and noise- and spitting out cobwebs of poetry, prose and patented propaganda. The gathering of the wings will take place @ The Harwood Arts Center on 7th & Mountain in Downtown Albuquerque- Nov. 4th, 2012 5-7pm.

Chicago Poetry Bordello Celebrates Double Screw Steamers
(It’s a steamship, silly.)
Burlesque Beauty debut: Miss B.
Special Guests: Pinch and Squeal from Cleveland!
$5 if dressed Victorian. $10 if not.

City of Paris embarked on her maiden voyage in April 1889. A month later, she won the Blue Riband for the first westbound voyage under 6 days, making her the fastest ship on the north Atlantic route.

A year later, City of Paris was steaming towards Liverpool when her starboard propeller shaft broke, causing the starboard engine to race and then disintegrate. She was dead in the water and needed towing by the tramp steamer, Aldersgate.

In our steamship celebration, you’re the tramp wandering from port to port looking for the perfect poet! The tramp with the most ribbons wins! Each poetry whore will have three ribbons to give away during his or her first three private readings—the tramp with the most favors WINS a trophy worthy for christening!

Enjoy a wonderful dinner from Ristorante al Teatro! and a good time at the bordello! See you there!
