The limo pulls to the curb.
\nHer first husband was in the air force.
\nA yellow jacket makes her hair stand up.
\nHe plays the saxphone under the trees.
\nOne child in yellow dress dances at the street pole.
\nHe wouldn’t even cut the umbilical cord.
\nShe ate cheesecake with cherries.

She opens the door of the limo.
\nA man with muscles,
\na tight black t-shirt
\nstretched across his chest,
\nclimbs out.
\nA cherry sprays water
\nover the gardens.
\nBlack clouds bring out
\numbrellas and hustling patrons.
\nCindy Lauper and Cher will be here – oh my god!
\nDoors open to the theatre.
\nA mass of colors and sizes walk through the doors.<\/p>\n
She closes the door to the limo.
\nRain drops fall
\nbut not under the trees.
\nShe extends the umbrella
\nin order to keep her cigarette dry.
\nCoffee, gin with ice,
\ncherry red lips savor the taste of it.
\nHer pointed bright yellow shoes
\nmatch her hair.
\nHe puts away his saxophone
\nonly to bring it out again.
\nHolding the umbrella
\nshe smokes in the rain.
\nThunder cracks.
\nDrops of rain enlarge.<\/p>\n
The limo drives away.
\nShe just got out of the hospital yesterday.
\nA car seat for the baby was placed
\nin the wrong spot of the back seat.
\nTwo men hug, smile, walk together.
\nThe wind blows empty coffee cups.
\nShe needs her ticket to obtain the hearing aid “thingee”.
\nA lightning flash,
\nthe lights go down,
\nthe voice speaks of cell phones
\nand pagers.
\nMusic blasts.
\nA play begins.<\/p>\n
