Days of Snow<\/p>\n
Remember days, as kids,
\nspent outdoors
\nrolling down hills
\ntunnelling through snow.
\nDrifts stood tall.
\nMom made hot maple oats.
\nWe’d listen to the radio
\nfor school cancellations.
\nI’d wear longjohns
\nand poke my thumb out the fly.
\nWe’d breathe frosty air.
\nSnots froze in nostrils.
\nFlakes fell on eyelids.
\nWe’d suck icicles for drinks
\nand get brain-freeze.
\nAt night our boots stood in puddles
\nmitts, caps cluttered ’round the door,
\nsnowsuits and scarves on hooks.
\nWe’d sniffle, wheeze,
\nand gag down Buckley’s Cough Formula.<\/p>\n
