Doug Holder founded the small press Ibbetson Street in 1998 in Somerville, http://ibbetsonpress.com Mass. He has a history of publishing his own poetry and articles in the small press, in such magazines as the Chiron Review, Hunger, Main Street Rag, Hazmat Review, Sub-Terrain, small press review, Cerebus, Heeltap, Skylark, and many others. Ibbetson Street published a memoir by the iconic and iconoclastic small press legend Hugh Fox " Way, Way Off the Road" ( Ibbetson Street,2006). Through his blog Boston Area Small Press and Literary Scene http://dougholder.blogspot.com he and the staff have reviewed hundreds if not thousands of small press poetry, fiction and non-fiction books over the years. Holder interviews poets and writers on his Somerville Community Access TV show Poet to Poet Writer to Writer http://poettopoetwritertowriter.blogspot.com. Holder has also reviewed books, and interviewed writers, artists, and poets in his column in The Somerville Times " Off the Shelf." Holder recently received a citation from the State House of Massachusetts for his work as a poet, publisher, professor and editor. Holder teaches writing at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, and Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. In the summer of 2015 he released his latest poetry collection: "Portrait of an Artist as a Young Poseur" ( Big Table Books) and won the Allen Ginsberg Community Service Award from the Newton and Writing and Publishing Center. Holder has run poetry groups for psychiatric patients at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass, for over 30 years.
