Free Press Release Resource
Small Press Center was established in December 2010 in order to provide a free, moderated, online press release resource for Small Press authors, publishers and publications.
What is the Small Press?
The Small Press is more easily defined by what it is not. The small press should not be confused with vanity presses. The small press includes presses and publications that are not part of large conglomerates or multinational corporations. Often referred to as “independent” or “alternative”, the small press is a community of authors, publishers and publications varied in style and purpose. Simply put, you think (Small Press), therefore you are!
Open
Small Press Center is owned and operated by The Literary Underground, which operates from the United States of America. Visit theliteraryunderground.org for more information.
English Language
Press releases written in English may be submitted to Small Press Center by any user from anywhere around the world. Press releases must pertain to publishing, literature events or news related to the Small Press.
Human Moderated, Human Edited
Small Press Center is moderated and edited by Small Press Center Staff in order to ensure that each press release submitted follows the press release guidelines, which focus on making sure every release published is genuinely newsworthy and related to the Small Press.
Spam Free
Small Press Center spends a large amount of time developing rules and strategies to prevent spam press release submissions: this is the primary reason for the press release guidelines.
Widely Available
Small Press Center distribute press releases online, which are accessed by Small Press Center web visitors, journalists and bloggers via organic search, news aggregators, RSS readers and Google Feedburner email subscription(s) – providing each press release submitted adheres to the aforementioned quality guidelines.
Free
It is entirely free to submit to, or read from Small Press Center. The website features third party advertising in order to cover the costs involved in maintaining the service, in every case, any advertising is clearly marked as separate and distinct from press release copy. You may notice that this openness and willingness to separate your press release from ad copy separates Small Press Center from a myriad of similar free services, who often embed advertising right within – sometimes in the middle of – your press release. We feel that this detracts from user experience, and, worse, can prevent your message from being read (if a user clicks an ad half way through reading your press release, he or she will never receive your message).
Naturally, while we don’t expect you to take our word for it, we feel that we offer a truly comprehensive, professional level experience as a result, without compromising your ability to deliver your press release.
Submit Your Press Release
If you wish to submit a press release to Small Press Center for consideration by our site moderators and editors, you may do so by registering and logging in from any page, and hitting the Submit Free Press Release button (in the Navigation Menu).
